Jun. 24--CERRO GORDO -- Ron Black of Lovington was named the interim superintendent for Cerro Gordo schools at the Thursday board meeting.
Black, currently superintendent of Oakland schools, will retire from his position this year and will serve Cerro Gordo until a permanent superintendent can be found. Leonard Bogle, Cerro Gordo's current superintendent, will retire June 30.
"They needed some help here," Black said. "This time of year, it's kind of hard to get superintendents. I'll be filling in until such time as they can find someone who can handle the job better," he added, laughing.
