FROM Pompey to Chatham, they're celebrating Nelson's victory over the French at Trafalgar, saving us from a lifetime of smoking Gauloises and munching escargots.
Gibraltar is having a knees-up too in the run up to Trafalgar week in October. The Rock, just around the corner from Trafalgar, has been a British Naval base for more than 300 years and Nelson would have known the place like the back of his only hand.
