This month will see the welcome return of NASA's Space Shuttle programme scheduled for its first launch since the Columbia disaster in 2003.
On July 13, or shortly after, Discovery will blast off to the International Space Station with an upgraded external tank and booster rockets. Its crew of seven, led by the Commander, Eileen Collins, will carry out three space-walks to repair the Space Station's stabilisation system as well as delivering critical supplies and equipment.
