KILKENNY skipper Peter Barry has made a stout defence of hurling in Leinster ahead of the provincial showpiece at Croke Park.
Kilkenny will start as hot favourites against Wexford after a 31-point demolition job on Offaly in the semi final - a result that shocked many hurling followers.
But the Cats have been merciless all year long - they demolished Wexford by a similar margin in the league back in April before following up with a comfortable victory against Tipperary and a big win over Clare in the league decider.
