A demoted top University of Wisconsin-Madison administrator says his doctor never signed off on his extended sick leave, during which he continued to collect his annual $191,000 salary.
Former Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Paul Barrows further contended that earlier this month, Chancellor John Wiley asked him to have his doctor send a letter approving the sick leave retroactively. Barrows said his doctor sent a draft of such a letter to the university, but never signed it because both Barrows and his doctor felt uneasy about it.
