THERE is something of the renaissance man about Sam Gordon Clark.
Cultured and charming, for the past nine years he has been in charge of The Henley Festival of Music and Arts, combining his well-established commercial skills with his passion for classical music and the arts.
Henley is internationally known for its regatta but within three days of the last oar being stowed, it is transformed again into a festival town with five nights of music, comedy, dance, fireworks and dining. The floating stage on the Thames provides the venue for the principal performers, and art and sculpture is spread along the riverbank enclosure.
