Jun. 29--People's Bank said Tuesday it will close two Bridgeport branches -- on Brookside and Madison avenues -- and re-place them with a larger branch on Main Street that is set to open in August.
Both People's branches in the Super Stop & Shops on Brookside and Madison avenues will remain open, according to Armando Goncalves, first vice president and growth manager for People's greater Bridgeport branches.
"We have been looking for a location to provide the best service possible," Goncalves said.
While there are a total of seven People's Bank branches in Bridgeport, the new facility, at 3969 Main St., will be its largest non-headquarters ...
