The family business is the perfect venue for psychiatry. It is the ultimate merger of self, family, and work life.
About 90% of the businesses in America are essentially family businesses, ranging from large clothing makers like Levi Strauss and L.L. Bean to the Boston-based company that has made cymbals for the Boston Symphony Orchestra since 1623. Remarkably, family businesses have a survival rate of less than 11% between the first and third generations.
