Nothing scares the prescribing psychopharmacologist like the possibility of a serious adverse drug reaction. "Black box" warnings, bold warnings, and precautions published in the Physicians' Desk Reference (PDR) are an important part of assessing risk/benefit ratios for patients when treating bipolar disorder.
