THE mayor of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, Mr Anibal Ibarra, is scouring world capitals seeking technical and banking services and finance to launch the $US 1 billion construction of three metro lines.
The three lines are: Line F (Constitucion-Plaza Italia, Line G (Retiro-Cid Campeador), and Line I (Emilio Mitre-Plaza Italia). Current work includes extending lines A and B, and constructing Line H.
After three months analysing technical bids for 11, live-car trains for the metro, Alstom appears to be the only company left in the bidding. The Chinese competitor that has been eliminated is considering an appeal.
