BOSTON -- The New England Council President James T. Brett today requested the Base Realignment and Closure Commission (BRAC) reconsider the Department of Defense's proposal to close several military bases in New England, resulting in the loss of more than 14,000 defense jobs and having "a detrimental effect on the region and on our nation's military."
The BRAC Commission is meeting July 6 to review the proposed closures and realignments in New England.
