Bye-bye, bug juice - hello, bliss.
Back in the day, summer camp meant gimp bracelets, Color War and campfires. But today's savvy teenagers are spending their summers at "camps" that look a lot more like spas.
"There's a lot out there," said Betsy Israolit, spokeswoman for www.spafinder.com. "I think it's (because) teenagers are into health. But I also think of spas as camps for grownups, especially destination spas, so I'm not surprised it's (trickled down) to teenagers."
Of the more than 10,000 day and overnight camps for kids, a growing number offer programs that might be considered pampering.
