Jun. 30--By the end of the summer, people could be picnicking at the John Rowland Home.
The Industry Hills Rotary Club and the La Puente Valley Historical Society will donate $10,000 to $12,000 to plant grass and trees and install eight concrete picnic tables in the dirt- covered lot on the northeast corner of the Hacienda La Puente School District office.
The Rowland Home, built in 1855, sits a few steps north of the garden and picnic area.
Construction is expected to start in July and last about six weeks.
