Biographical, historical truth asserts itself; it is naked and does not tolerate bindings and wrappings, even if they are made of silk. Biographical truth neither ignores nor conceals anything, not even that which is undesirable to the biographer with a known bias and excessive liking for the person he is portraying, because it demands facts and light, things as they are and not as the writer sees or would like to see them.
