SEOUL, July 1 (Yonhap) -- Government efforts to launch an expanded arms procurement agency gained momentum after parliament passed a proposal aimed at the integration of separate related organizations, officials said Friday.On Thursday, the National Assembly voted for a ruling party-sponsored bill aimed at combining eight government organizations engaging in weapons procurement projects.Members of the main opposition Grand National Party boycotted the voting, arguing the bill did not include measures for inspecting the proposed mammoth agency.According to the bill, South Korea would establish the new arms procurement agency, to be headed by a vice ...
