Jul. 3--Philip Morris cannot advertise its tobacco products on television, but it can pitch its smoking cessation guide, QuitAssist.
"If you decide to quit smoking -- " goes the Philip Morris QuitAssist commercial.
And if you don't? Well, at least they got to say "Philip Morris" on TV.
The tobacco giant launched QuitAssist in September. It began advertising the guide in March, and it plans to continue airing its QuitAssist commercials on Denver TV stations through July 10.
Philip Morris' PR firm sent me press materials last week promoting QuitAssist, but the tobacco company's executives declined my requests ...
