Jul. 5--Everybody needs to get out of town sometimes, but local merchants want people to stop and think before leaving Butte to shop.
"We want to get the idea in people's minds to try Butte first," said Rhonda Lee, co-owner of Keenan's Jewelers in the Butte Plaza Mall.
She is one of a group of local retailers spearheading a new shop-locally campaign called "It Just Makes Cents." They have formed a new retail committee at the Butte Chamber of Commerce to send this message: Shopping locally isn't just about economics, it's about community.
