Introduction to Bayesian Statistics. William M. BOLSTAD, Hoboken, NJ: Wiley, 2004, ISBN 0-471-27020-2, xviii + 354 pp., $84.95.
In 2002 I reviewed a book (Ganocy 2002) on Bayesian statistics by Congdon (2001), which I felt was a good introduction to applied Bayesian methodology which used the BUGS (Bayesian analysis Using Gibbs Sampling) software. Also, it was my opinion that this text could serve as a user's guide to the software. This new text by Bolstad provides a more fundamental basis for learning about Bayesian statistics and could easily be used as a "prequel" to Congdon's book.
