Whilst the guidelines on vitamins and minerals proposed by the Codex Alimentarius, a joint body of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation and the World Health Organisation, would not replace existing national standards or create new national rules, they are designed to function as a guideline concerning the labelling of food supplements.
