Last weekend, as Northern Kentuckians celebrated with colorful blasts of fireworks and plentiful food and drink, Ted and Mona Lewis quietly collected what they could stuff into two suitcases and a carry-on bag apiece.
The Lewises have sold their brick ranch home in Triple Crown. They've given away belongings and prepped their furniture for storage.
For several months, Ted, 47, a former photojournalist, and Mona, 41, an interior designer, have received inoculations to protect them typhoid fever, hepatitis and meningitis.
