PALMDALE - Car builder Ed ``Big Daddy'' Roth, whose outlandish custom cars and even more outlandish hot-rodding cartoon monsters made him famous in the 1960s, is the inspiration for a weekend gathering of custom-car and hot rod aficionados.
The sixth annual Rat Fink Party and Kustom Kulture Extravaganza and charity art auction Saturday at a Palmdale drag-race course is expected to draw cars, motorcycles and even custom bicycles from all over California and as far as Phoenix.
``This is going to be phenomenal this year. The guys not only get to show their vehicles, but they get to race them,'' organizer ``Moldy'' Marvin said.
