SIR CLIVE WOODWARD'S iconoclastic rugby career ends today in a way he could never have imagined - with a sympathetic nod from an old foe.

Graham Henry, the master puppeteer whose All Blacks outwitted the Lions at every turn during the first two Tests, went into this morning's finale knowing how his counterpart felt from personal experience of a similar plight four years ago.
