Article: Joint IED Defeat Task Force Awaits White Papers.(Improvised Explosive Device)

The Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Task Force (JIED) expects detailed white papers from some 38 responses to a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) in the next couple of weeks to help solve the problem of IEDs that are causing nearly half the deaths and injuries of deployed forces, according to the task force director.

The task force released the BAA in March, covering 18 capability areas, such as device detection, neutralization at range and persistent surveillance, said Army Brig. Gen.
