OTTAWA -- Alberta spot natural gas prices have tumbled dramatically as warm winter weather returns to the Canadian prairie, easing pressure on western Canadian gas producers to make up shortfalls in gas supply.
Spot delivered-to-pipeline prices have fallen to as low as US$1.11/Mcf in Alberta this week after briefly peaking at $2.95/Mcf during a cold snap earlier this month, said Brent Friedenberg, who publishes Canadian Natural Gas Focus, a monthly gas price publication in Calgary.
