NEW YORK -- FORTUNE announced today that Wal-Mart, the Arkansas-based retailer, tops the FORTUNE Global 500 for the fourth year in the row. Rounding out the top ten are No. 2 BP (Britain); No. 3 Exxon Mobil (U.S.); No. 4 Royal Dutch/Shell Group (Britain/Netherlands); No. 5 General Motors (U.S.); No. 6 DaimlerChrysler (Germany); No. 7 Toyota Motor (Japan); No. 8 Ford Motor (U.S.); No. 9 General Electric (U.S.); and No. 10 Total (France).
