VENLO, The Netherlands, July 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Qiagen, N.V. (Nasdaq: QGEN; Frankfurt, Prime Standard: QIA) today announced that Douglas Liu joined Qiagen as Vice President Global Operations on July 1, 2005. In this role, Mr. Liu will oversee all of Qiagen's operations including manufacturing, quality, logistics and infrastructure. Mr. Liu will be a member of Qiagen's Executive Committee and will be based in Qiagen's European headquarters in Hilden, Germany. He will report to Peer M. Schatz, Qiagen's Chief Executive Officer.
