Article: Arlington Heights native's film gets thumbs up from the critic Ebert.(Neighbor)(Good news)

It's been a long road since Arlington Heights native Michael Gilio, 32, left for Los Angeles to make his career in films. But the actor/writer/director just may have arrived. His feature film, Kwik Stop, was introduced Wednesday at the Gene Siskel Film Center in Chicago by national film critic Roger Ebert, before a sold out house.

"What a great night, it was magical," says Gilio, a 1991 Buffalo Grove High School graduate.

Not only did Ebert introduce the film but he selected it for the screening as being the best from his "Overlooked Film Festival," held annually at the University of Illinois in Champaign.
