After travelling in Australia and Thailand, Freyja Thirlaway landed back in the North East and walked straight into a job she loves.

The 26-year-old, from Byker, Newcastle, swapped back-packing for the glamorous surroundings of Malmaison Hotel on the Quayside 11 months ago and has never looked back.

As a receptionist at the hotel, Freyja welcomes everyone, from family holidaymakers to businessman, with a friendly smile.
