Detroit, Mich. -- Tony La Russa was an All-Star manager three times before baseball started using the event to determine home-field advantage in the World Series.
He never lost then, and he doesn't intend to lose tonight when he leads the National League squad against what appears to be a more imposing American League unit.
Terry Francona, whose Boston Red Sox used home-field advantage to help sweep La Russa's St. Louis Cardinals in last year's World Series, was pretty satisfied when he unveiled his AL batting order Monday.
