For Todd Gerhardt, Chanhassen's split personality in the eyes of the U.S. Postal Service has been a frustration ever since he came to the city.
A product of Welcome, Minnesota, population 850 - a small town with its own school, post office and ZIP code - Gerhardt came to Chanhassen understanding the value of a strong sense of community. But he found a city divided up among school districts and ZIP codes. "I heard a lot of people complain that Chanhassen had some identity issues," he recalls. "I was proud of the community," he says, and wanted "to expand on Chanhassen's identity."
