Jul. 9--ROGUE RIVER -- A bicycle-pedestrian trail that would eventually link the town with Central Point and the Bear Creek Greenway finally has a starting point, thanks to community donations and a state grant.
The 25-mile project has been awarded a $39,000 recreational trails grant from the Oregon State Parks and Recreation Department to create the Depot Street Bridge Greenway Portal.
"The project now has a jumping-off point," said Shayne Maxwell, director of the Rogue River Greenway Foundation. "I'm just tickled to death about this. This is our first grant."
