'When I moved to Australia from the United States I was probably a little naive about what it would be like to work at the "frontier of nursing practice".
I had researched the status of nurse practitioners here and found it was a new area of practice for Australian nurses, but because nurse practitioners were a common presence in my studies and work as a registered nurse in America, it was hard to appreciate the barriers I would need to overcome to be accepted as a nurse practitioner in Australia.
