Albany will join Westchester County in bailing out Westchester Medical Center this year, the state's second-highest health official told an audience of health-care leaders in White Plains.
"I don't think there's any question that the state is going to participate in some solution for Westchester Medical Center. How that is structured, I think, is the question," said Dennis P. Whalen, the state Health Department's executive deputy commissioner. "Clearly, Westchester Medical Center is a key component of the health-care delivery system in this area."
