EDITOR'S NOTE: During early June, Power Products Marketing conducted a survey on behalf of Powersports Business among 150 ATV dealers across the U.S. These dealers collectively sold over 24,000 ATVs through May, about 8-9% of the actual market, which would qualify as a good sample size. The following is a current update on this important powersports market.
U.S. adult-size ATV retail sales (i.e., 150cc & over) for the first five months of 2005 were running about 1% ahead of the same period a year ago, according to the 150 dealers we surveyed. Industry sales for the month of May were reportedly up about 5-6% over May 2004.
