Jul. 14--CHEYENNE -- A feasibility study will look at whether local residents want a recreation center, how to pay for it and if it should be a regional attraction.
The city has allocated almost $20,000 to its Parks and Recreation Department for the study, which is being handled by Colorado-based consulting firms.
City officials spoke with the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle Editorial Board Wednesday about the idea.
The study, expected to be done in October, will look at residents' support for the proposal. It is expected that a recreation center would need approval on a future sixth-penny sales tax ballot.
