With budgets generally even with last year or slightly ahead, children's wear retailers were in a positive mood as they began focusing on early back-to-school merchandise at summer-transition markets in Dallas and Chicago.
The six-day market in Dallas ended last Tuesday; the five-day event in Chicago was held the previous week. Individual reports follow.
