Jul. 16--Ray Vinson's bid to return as the radio advertising voice of American Equity Mortgage Inc. was blocked Friday.
A St. Louis County Circuit Court judge rejected an effort to put Vinson in charge of marketing for the Maryland Heights-based lender. Vinson founded American Equity 13 years ago, but he has never held an executive position. All of the stock is held by his wife, Deanna Vinson, the chief executive.
She filed for divorce in October. In January, Ray Vinson demanded that all advertising featuring his distinctive voice be pulled.
