Count on Buddy and High Tower to steal the scene.
Case in point: a recent post-season party at Idlewood Park for players on the "Cubs" T-ball team.
As the young players caught a glimpse of the tall Tennessee walking horse and the palomino approaching their picnic shelter, they rushed to greet the four-footed members of the Boone County Sheriff's Horse Patrol Unit.
"Are those cops on those horses?" asked one T-ball player. "Can we pet them? Can we pet them?"
They got the OK from deputies Donna Jansen, aboard Buddy, and Dave Fields, on High Tower, who at 17 1/2-hands high is aptly named.
