The neighborhood joke is that Dave Clouse knows everyone so well because he reads their mail.
The truth is, "Dave the mailman" knows everyone because for 25 years on the same College Hill route, he's taken an interest in the people behind those address labels.
"He's like the old-fashioned mailman you'd see in a Rockwell painting," said Blake Rodger, 34, who's lived on the route for four years. "He takes the time, he chats with people in the neighborhood."
