Beaver County, Pa., transit authority to get $2 million from state.

Jul. 18--Under a plan that goes to a vote later this week, Beaver County would get more than $2 million for its transit authority while $328 million would be steered to financially suffering transit authorities in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

Gov. Ed Rendell's plan, which could be approved by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission on Wednesday, would channel 95 percent of $344 million in federal highway funds for the state to the Port Authority of Allegheny County ($113.35 million) and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority ($215.5 million).
