Jul. 19--Aapico Hitech Plc, the SET-listed Thai-Malaysian auto parts maker, expects to expand business aggressively, particularly in overseas markets, boosted by support from its new Japanese strategic partner, Sojitz Corporation and affiliates, according to Aapico chairman Yeap Swee Chuan.

The company will issue 42.36 million new preferred shares with one baht par value and offer them to Sojitz, a Japanese automotive trading firm, at a price of 34.41 baht each. The total value of the transaction would be 1.46 billion baht.

The preferred shares will be subject to a silent period of three years.
