Electricity shortages in Inner Mongolia affecting economic growth
Beijing. July 19. INTERFAX-CHINA - An official in the Industrial Department of the Inner Mongolian Development and Reform Commission confirmed that Inner Mongolia is facing a "very big" power shortage and that it is affecting economic development in China's northernmost region.
Delays in constructing additional generation capacity have been the primary cause of the shortages, and increases in demand have outpaced the increase in supply for some time.
