A VETERAN American writer today told the High Court how he saw Roman Polanski "romance" a blonde model by putting his hand on her leg.
Lewis Lapham, editor of New York's Harpers magazine, said the Oscar-winning director introduced himself to her in a Manhattan restaurant after his murdered wife Sharon Tate's funeral.
Polanski allegedly told Norwegian Beatte Telle: "I can make you the next Sharon Tate."
Mr Lapham told the jury the words stuck in his mind because they were "tasteless and vulgar".
