North East Waste Services Inc. is beefing up its long-haul trucking operations and essentially doubling the revenue of the company in the process.
North East acquired the operations of PDC Disposal Co., David J. Martinez Truck and Pontie Disposal Co., three long-haul companies that have been sending trash to North East landfills for years, said James Elitzak, president and CEO at North East of Marlborough, Mass.
"It plugs in very nicely with what our focus is,'' Elitzak said.
North East chiefly relies on long-haul trucking to direct waste to its five landfills in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Vermont.
