Anxious time for thousands of Scots children as hi-tech system fails TENS of thousands of pupils are facing delays in finding out exam results after a computer crash crippled the marking of their papers.
The latest crisis to hit the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) comes in the wake of the fiasco in 2000, when thousands of pupils received late, incomplete or incorrect results.
Now the beleaguered exams body faces fresh humiliation after electronic equipment used to mark multiple choice papers in several subjects failed, forcing SQA staff to resort to manual marking.
