THE first payments from the [pounds sterling]5 million fund to help victims of the London bombings and their families are being made today.
Bereaved families will get initial grants of [pounds sterling]5,000 and people who had to stay overnight in hospital as a result of their injuries are entitled to [pounds sterling]3,000.
The fund's administrators said these preliminary payouts would be topped up "according to the emerging needs of those affected and the resources available".
