Area trout streams
Most local creeks are in typical summer condition right now, i.e., low, clear and warm. The best fishing is from first light until 9 a.m. or so. Fine leaders and a quiet approach are essential to success.
Catskill Rivers
Anglers on the West Branch of the Delaware are taking trout in the afternoon on size 16-18 sulfur dry fly and emerger patterns, but the fishing is difficult. Use long leaders with 6X or 7X tippets and wade as little as possible.
Oneida Lake
Walleye fishing is good one day and poor the next. In general, the best action is during the first and last hours of daylight, on jigs tipped with worms, in 30 to 35 feet of water. ...
