Projector company Christie Digital Systems and digital storage and delivery service provider AccessIT have proposed a new business venture to enable the deployment of 2,500 digital screens in the US by 2007. Through the formation of subsidiary Christie/AIX, the two companies will act as both a funding vehicle and support network for the installation of digital cinema projectors and related equipment. According to the proposal, 200 screens should be operational by end 2005.
