DALLAS _ More hope is on the horizon for the estimated 20 million adults and 6 million children suffering from asthma. Biofeedback holds promise as a complementary treatment to medication, a recent study revealed.

And that's good news for biofeedback specialists, too. The results bolster what they've believed all along _ that mind over matter makes a difference.

During biofeedback, a therapist attaches electrodes to the patient's body. These sensors provide a variety of readings, or feedback. They're displayed on the equipment for the patient to see.
