A 23-year-old Schaumburg woman was struck and killed in Streamwood by a car police say was driven by a nurse on her way to work at the same hospital where the victim was rushed for emergency care.

Police say Kelly Russo, described by family as an aspiring teacher, was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates Friday night after being hit by a car around 11 p.m. at Barrington Road and Williamsburg Drive, yards from the bar Fifty North, she had just left. The car left the scene without stopping, police said.
